Functions like plastic, but is made from wood!
The case itself might look like plastic (and indeed it functions pretty similarly), but it is actually made from a very clever wood-based bioplastic. Liquid wood shifts shape and solidifies like plastic, it has the precision, flexibility and durability of plastic with the 100% recyclable, renewable, tactile and aesthetic advantages of wood, in a single new material. This clever material is lightweight, water resistant and strong, but at the end of its life will biodegrade and can be home-composted or even burnt.
To save space in your bag, the soap cases are as small as is practical but large enough to fit all our soap bars.
How is Liquid Wood made?
Liquid wood is made from a leftover part of trees that is unused. During the paper-making process – over 100 million pounds of its main ingredient are created as a simple side-effect of the existing pulp (paper-making) industry. This leftover is combined with natural resins,
flax and fibers that can be injected into molds.
